Oak Hill House Fire

On Wednesday afternoon at just after 13:00hrs, the Elsmere Fire Co, and surrounding companies were dispatched to 1307 Kenwood Rd in Oak Hill for a House fire. Rescue/Engine 166 and Hockessin Fire Chief Quint Sianni, arrived and reported a 2 story split level dwelling with fire showing from the second floor. The crew of 166 deployed a 2″ handline and made entry through the front door to began an attack on the fire. Additional crews on scene assisted with fire suppression, searches, and laddering of the structure. The fire was extinguished within 25 minutes and contained to the second floor bedroom and hallway area, with some extension into the attic. No injuries were reported, and the family dog was rescued by firefighters. Crews from Elsmere were assisted by Cranston Heights, Five Points, Minquas of Newport, Belvedere, Hockessin, Mill Creek Fire Companies, and Wilmington Fire Department Ladder Co 2.
